Batty-boy is creaming over these all white Vittoria Randonneur tyres. Thank God their colouring hides such man on tyre love acts.
A quick release Aerospoke - I have a feeling it won’t be staying on that bike for very long.
They look fresh, but there’s only one way to keep them that way - not ride. Although the profile will stay relatively clean. Poor beauties are like fresh meat in prison though - things are going to get dirty!!
the year is over for me, judging by last day of work vimeo and youtube whoring all morning. i’m taking a break on the back of a yacht for a few days. during this time the customs will be pampered by bones before getting some formation face treatment. some selle italia, miche primato times two , japanese track bars and that lucky lucky continental ultra sport blue tyre. keep locked for that.
for now its the mighty eska with sticks and stones from deviation with morgan zarate like karate, my favourite track of the latter half of 0-eight. i won’t apologise for the audio quality for now and as you can see from the clip its pure party, just like the time of year, good christmas and merry new year. see you at gilles peterson.
The Skeletonson and Pub King were taken to the best fixed gear bike shop in town, Ideal Cycles, for some new components. After ten minutes of staring in awe at our powdercoated rigs, talking about the high quality of the work, then asking if I could hook them up, we got our parts, put the cargo in the 4WD and sped home to put the final touches on yet another phase of creating our custom fixie dream.
Parts bought:
2 x Bottom Bracket
2 x Headsets
2 x 42t Gebhardt front cogs
2 x Chrome cranks
2 x White Velocity Deep V rims (1 front, 1 rear, both black stainless steal spokes, both Miche hubs)
4 x Standard black track tyres
4 x Inner tubes (ewww, exciting!!)
1 x Continental Ultra Sport blue tyre (for Batty-boy’s rear *cough*)
…and a motherload of ordered parts that should be in after Christmas.
Car full of loot:
Bike put together roughly with the white Velocity Deep V rear rim attached to the Skeletonson (MKS Sylvan pedals, head stem and handlebars from the original bike):
Stay tuned as the H + Son Formation Face rims, custom hubs, killer seats and other blood lusty parts detonate onto the custom fixies!!
Oh, by the way, the Masi Speciale Fixed LTD is still dominating!!
While my Masi Speciale Fixed LTD gets taken for hourly cruises, the custom fixies are coming along nicely. We sandblasted, powdercoated and sealed the frames and forks - below is the result. Once again the mighty iPhone camera does not deliver quality images. Look through the haze of blurred imagery to find the frames that launched a million emotions.
Rims are being shipped in and should arrive next week and then it’s componentry build-up time people!! Stay fixed!!
My lovely lady has designed some custom longboard skateboards for some lucky Aussie clientele and the Bones version is underway (an array of sizes and prices). We are taking orders now!!
